Vu app for Android gets overhaul
Recently, Android Vu users were treated to a complete Android-overhaul of the popular content personalization tool that delivers rich personalized content to users through a beautiful gesture-driven experience. Over the past few weeks, the redesign of the app has been giving users a world-class user experience that merges the Vu brand with all the hallmarks of Android design and interaction.
Since its debut, Vu has been steadily growing its user base, with 260K users added in the last few months alone. The Android redesign, commissioned in response to user feedback, has been generating plenty of positive buzz amongst loyal users as well as its newest ones. Google Play has also taken notice, giving the app a spot in its Featured App lineup. The positive response owes in no small part to the meticulous attention paid to Android-specific interactions and design. Some highlights that have been delighting Vu users include: the ability to share articles via Android Beam, a “Read Aloud” feature, an intuitive homescreen widget, the integration of the native Roboto font, and Google+ integration.
Vu has also won users over with its sophisticated, ever-evolving engine that learns from user interactions. This ‘brain’ is what allows Vu to offer true personalization to its users, giving Vu a distinct edge over its other content reader competitors. Best of all, while Vu is a fast, intuitive learner, users still hold the ultimate control over their content experience. For example, Vuers can add a custom stream of content called a Vu, so they’ll never miss out on the news that matters most to them. The more users interact with the app, the more they shape and improve their Vu experience.
Tablet lovers have also found their Vu experience fully optimized, including owners of the new Nexus 7. The gorgeous interface is intended to completely immerse users in interesting and personalized content for hours. The large format, with its beautiful images and e-book style features, was designed to ensure plenty of reading enjoyment.
“We’re so thrilled by the positive response we’ve received--of course from Google Play, but especially from our wonderful Android Vuers out there. Because we’re a company that prides ourselves on user personalization by listening--really listening--to what our users want, we knew we wanted to express that through this redesign. Our Vuers inspired us to create what we hope is a best-in-class reading experience,” said Vu’s Allison Talley, Senior Manager, Product Development.
