SlideShow: First look at the Asus Zenfone and PadFone from CES 2014
Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:02AM One of the more interesting reveals this year at CES 2014 was Asus PadFone which is a smartphone that docks into a tablet to make use of of the tablet's larger screen and controls. It is one of those aspirational products for the 'user who can't decide between a tablet or a smartphone,' and yes it competes with the large smartphone or Phablet demographic. Asus also revealed its line of ZenFones which are Android powered smartphones in 4, 5 and 6-inch screens and various colours. While apparently basic smartphones running Android 4.3, they promise an update to 4.4 KitKat. On tap is HSPA+ and starts with 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor for the 4-inch version. No word on in and when these will make it to Canada. but it is interesting to see Asus mixing it up and diving into the mobile space.
