Waterloo's Dandy Launches cross-platform “Picture This" app

Waterloo-based Dandy just  launched the winning application idea entitled “Picture This” for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Google Glass.

Wrapping-up their wildly successful “60 Day Challenge”, which saw Dandy offer app creators the opportunity, as winners of the challenge, to take their idea and bring it to market in just sixty days.

The idea for Picture This was originally submitted to Dandy as "Picture Scavenger Hunt" by 19 year old engineering student Niger Little-Poole. Niger's idea was selected by Dandy after users came together from around the world to pick the app's name, tagline, UI design, branding, features and revenue model.

Niger's idea came to him while organizing a party for a friend at university. “I thought of the app when I made a scavenger hunt for my friend last year for his birthday. He had a lot of fun and I realized it would be cool to have a way to do this with more people in a more organized way.” says Niger Little-Poole, “60 Day Challenge” winner and creator of “Picture This”.

CEO and Co-Founder Matt Scobel is proud of the success of the 60 Day Challenge and Picture This. “Going from an idea to app store in sixty days was an an amazing experience for everyone involved. We can’t wait to share Niger's story and show the world Picture This.“

The team at Dandy, along with “Picture This” creator Niger Little-Pool are currently in Las Vegas for tech week and will be promoting the app at New Media Expo from January 4th to the and at CES Showstoppers on January 7th, 2014. The app will be available as a freee download on January 6th, 2014.
