Rogers and TELUS begin Lumia 1020 "Lumia Black" update
Nokia is finally rolling out the most anticipated update for their Lumia ecosystem since the devices first launched back in 2012. Aptly named "Lumia Black", Nokia has taken the minor improvements found in Windows Phone 8′s recent GDR3 update and added substantial user-facing improvements. We just installed the update and the process takes around 40 minutes. Hit jump for all the details.
- The addition of folders on the home screen
- Improved Glance Screen that adds denser information and the option to colourize it
- Bluetooth LE support for fitness accessories and other wearables
- Much better imaging “especially in Lumia 1020” and, from GDR3, a driving mode and improved multitasking.
The rollout is beginning in Canada with the Rogers and Telus Lumia 1020, and is “Waiting for approval” for the Lumia 520, Lumia 620 and Lumia 920.
