BlackBerry and NantHealth team up for NantOmics Cancer Genome Browser

BlackBerry and NantHealth are teaming up to create the first in a series of innovative offerings being developed jointly for use by healthcare professionals. The NantOmics Cancer Genome Browser is the first clinical genome browser that gives doctors secure mobile access to their patients’ genetic data on the BlackBerry Passport smartphone.

Health-related solutions need to be built on platforms that secure data end-to-end – controlling access to the data in transit and at rest. A recent survey on Mobile Risk Tolerance showed that only 28 per cent of healthcare organizations are very confident that data assets are fully protected from unauthorised access via mobile devices.

The NantOmics Cancer Genome Browser relies on BlackBerry’s BES12 cross-platform EMM solution, taking advantage of the industry’s most comprehensive mobile security platform to provide clinicians with fully encrypted real-time patient data on their BlackBerry Passport smartphone. The application can be deployed and configured as part of a HIPAA-compliant environment.
