Review: Dyson DC62 Hand-Held Vacuum

Until you’ve owned a shedding dog, you really won't appreciate the value of owning a solid vacuum.
No mess. No kind of dust. No amount of dirt. Nothing really compares to the annoyance that is the small seemingly un-cleanable hair that comes from my Froston terrier, (French bulldog x boston terrier) named Bella. It’s everywhere. And before owning a Dyson, I couldn’t seem to clean it, regardless of the cleaning tool used. While I’ve owned the DC51 for a while now, it’s large and often unnecessary for small cleanups around my condo.Then Dyson sent me the DC62 Animal hand-held vacuum, and simultaneously, became my new best friend.
The Digital V6 motor:
This one feature attributes to everything that makes this, and other Dyson’s, what they are. Spinning at 110,000rpm, it is up to 3-times faster than conventional vacuum motors and makes the D62 the most powerful cordless vacuum available for purchase. It literally picks up everything and, because of this, encourages me to want to vacuum daily. Yes, I said it; I now enjoy vacuuming.
Interchangeable heads:
It comes with four interchangeable extensions, which ensure that, regardless of what you’re going after, you’ll get it. Each seemingly pickup more than the last, and each is unbelievably easy to use.
Hygenic bin emptying:
At the push of a button, on either side of the head, the dust canister releases everything that the vacuum has trapped. No fumbling with bags or risking dropping dust and hair back on the ground.
Overall:
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: it’s always worth the added price to get the better product, if the better product is indeed better. In the case of Dyson against its competition, there is none. While I’ve not tried everything, I have had the chance to try out several vacuums on the market and, needless to say, Dyson beats them all.

I am (very) unhappy and disappointed with my Dyson DC62.
It was my first Dyson purchase and I was so excited to finally have a Dyson, but I think I chose the wrong model.
The battery lasts long enough, but the reservoir fills up long before because the (reservoir) housing is so small, which definitely counters the advertisement in which the Dyson DC62 sucks up this incredibly long stripe of white dirt.
The emptying process is simple, but not easy (also because the housing is so small) in that everything gets stuck and I have to pull it out manually instead of just opening the lid and having everything conveniently drop out (as advertised)...
Last, but not least, is how the motor in the attachment stops rotating when I run it over a surface with any sort of pile that is not flat.
Long story less long, I do not recommend this particular Dyson model and do not recommend expecting Dyson to do anything to satisfy an unhappy customer as I found out after trying to contact them...
