Samsung Canada to sponsor Interactive NBA Basketball Tour
NBA Canada’s second annual interactive basketball tour, NBA Nation presented by Samsung Canada, will launch on Saturday, August 9, at Metropolis at Metrotown in Vancouver, B.C. NBA Nation will feature free interactive basketball activities, contests, on-court demonstrations, and the opportunity to meet an NBA player or legend.
More than 300,000 fans are expected to participate in NBA Nation presented by Samsung Canada, which will take place in five different cities throughout Canada: Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal, Halifax and Toronto. This year’s tour will include one new destination, with an inaugural stop in Halifax, at Mic Mac Mall. The tour will run from August 9 – September 13.
“Canadian basketball passion is currently at a fever pitch, and we’re proud to partner with NBA Canada to bring this to life,” said Mark Childs, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Canada. “By integrating Samsung technology into the NBA Nation events, we’re connecting fans’ passion for the game so they can play more, do more and share more of their passion for the game.”

NBA Nation offers fun activities for fans of all ages, including:
Samsung Skills Challenge – Fans will have the chance to go through an obstacle course on the Nation sport court. Each participant will be timed, and the winner will be awarded a Samsung Skills Challenge trophy.
Skullcandy Lounge – Fans can play video games and watch NBA highlights while using Skullcandy headphones.
Foot Locker 3-Point Contest – 30 participants will compete by shooting the long ball from different spots on the court. The person with the highest overall score will be given a prize provided by Foot Locker.
Foot Locker APPROVED Fan Makeover – A fan will be chosen from the crowd and brought to the in-mall Foot Locker store, where he/she will be given a clothing makeover. The fan, donning his/her new gear, will then be presented to the crowd back on the court.
NBA Championship Trophy & NBA Mascot Photo Session Presented by 2K – Fans will have the chance to take photos with an NBA mascot on the court while standing next to The Larry O’Brien NBA Championship trophy.
adidas NBA Player/Legend Q&A and Autograph Session – Fans will have the chance to ask an NBA player or legend questions and also receive an autographed card.
Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown – The best amateur dunkers in each city will use their creativity and basketball skills to perform their greatest dunks during the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown. A panel of judges will select the best dunkers. One winner from each city will receive the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown Championship trophy.
