CES 2015: Seagate launches 7mm thin portable drives

Seagate is celebrating 35 years of storage with an unprecedented extra thin portable drive. At 7 millimeters slim the precision-crafted Seagate Seven is a portable 500GB capacity in stainless steel enclosure. The world has largely moved to SSD (Solid State Drives) but affordable and high capacity platter based drives still offer the best bang for your buck and are ideal for backups and other storage solutions.
“Seagate has been providing the world with storage since the modern origins of computing history,” said Mark Whitby, senior vice president of Seagate Branded Group. “Seagate Seven is designed to speak to this history, while looking forward to the future of where storage technology is headed."
Seagate Seven is a 500GB portable hard drive that will be widely available in mid to late January for a suggested retail price of $99.99. As of launch, pre-orders can be made on Seagate.com and Amazon.com.
