Tired of staying home and feeling a bit adventureous? HotelTonight App is definitely one to download on to your mobile device. This handy app opens the door to many boutique, chic...or "curated" hotel properties with serious last-minute booking discounts. When we say last minute, you can book as far as one week in advance but the best deals to be had are on same-day bookings.
HotelTonight, based out of San Francisco, has staff vetted properties around the world deemed worthy of the savvy traveller. The app provides maps for those who want to zone in to a particular part of a city and get a quick glance at the property and rooms. It also offers handy staff tips like what stands out and any conveniences.
The app is ideal for last-minute travellers who want a quick getway from the daily grind but it's also perfect for the business traveller who finds herself say, with a cancelled flight because of weather or a meeting has been moved to the next day, and in need of a hotel room now.
I particularly like this app for the properties they've partnered with. At a quick glance today I noticed The Iroquois Hotel in New York going for $180 US for a same day booking - I've looked at this property before as it's also considered part of the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" and the best prices I've seen have been over $300.
