Apple Watch retail plan revealed with 15 min appointments and 10 try-on stations in store
There's now more information on how Apple Watch will be sold in Apple Retail Stores. A report from 9to5Mac reveals that we can expect Apple to 'allocate 15 minutes per customer for in-store try-on appointments.' there will be 10 try-on stations in each store to help triage customers and direct them to the right station depending on what they're interested in trying on.
Customers will not be required to make an appointment in the stores, interactions will be time-limited in order to best accomodate the most number of customers. The article states that 'Apple Stores will begin setting up the Apple Watch tables on April 9th and 10th during special overnight sessions for employees. Employees will also begin a few hours of more extensive training in the coming days.'
Apple Watch sales in store will be divided into various zones. One for customers who know what they want, another for users who need to try before they buy as well as specific zones for customers needing to demo specific features and finally, a zone for long-serving Apple Store employees, or 'experts' which will focus on selling the uber exclusive and likely limited Apple Watch Edition in 18k gold.
The report states that 'Apple will utilize a soft-shell sales approach that focuses on the device’s three key features (Health & Fitness, Communicating, and Timekeeping), bands and accessories, and iPhone hardware upgrades.'
