TV superhero universe expands with the CW's 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow'
With the third season of Arrow wrapped up, we're getting some big news for DC and The CW which is spinning off a new show based on some Arrow and Flash characters. Expanding the DC TV universe, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, isn't slated to show until next year but it has assembled quite a collection of heroes and villains. Arrow contributes The Atom and the newly ressurected White Canary, while The Flash will lend its two key rogues Captain Cold and Heatwave plus Firestorm. New additions include Hawkgirl and time-travelling Rip Hunter and Vandal Savage as the main baddie, check out the exciting trailer after the break.
So, what Marvel has succeeded in doing with movies, it looks like DC is somewhat replicating for primetime TV. With solo shows (Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Constantine), introducing new heroes and potential spinoff characters makes sense. They are also bringing back some of the more popular characters such as Caity Lotz's Canary and Prison Break bros Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Captain Cold and Heatwave. From the teaser above it looks very promising. It's got tech, martial arts, time travel and the odball dynamic of a hero team, what's not to like?
