Panasonic outs new Lumix cameras

Panasonic Canada brings in two of its newest cameras into the market—the DMC-GX8 and DMC-FZ300. Both cameras come equipped with the new Venus Engine designed to improve colour reproduction, luminosity, and saturation.

The GX8 is the new flagship Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera for the G-Series line. It sports a 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor, dual image stabilization, and 4K photo and video recording. ISO sensitivity goes up to 25600.

You do not have to worry about this camera not being able to take a bit of abuse, too. It’s weather-sealed and has a magnesium alloy full diecast frame. It has a high-precision, high-speed dual OLED displays for the 2,360K-dot live view finder and 3-inch 1,040K-dot rear monitor. And yes, it has Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity as well. The GX8 will be available in September in either black or chrome metal for $1,599 (for the body).

If you need a new zoom camera, you might want to check out the DMC-FZ300. This DMC-FZ200 successor comes equipped with a LEICA 25-600mm lens, full-range F2.8 aperture, and 4K photo and video recording. This 12.1-megapixel camera lets you shoot images up to ISO 6400 and has a 24x optical zoom. It has a large 1,440K-dot OLED LVF and a static-type touch control system, the 3-inch free-angle rear monitor. It has a splash- and dust-proof design. And it also has Wi-Fi connectivity. The FZ300 will be available mid-September for $799.99.
