New Android smartphones from Acer are coming to Canada
Acer may not be the first brand that comes to mind when it comes to smartphones in Canada but the PC giant is releasing not one but two affordabke models featuring the Android 4.4 OS and quad-core processors.
Canadians will be able to consider the award-winning Liquid Jade Z and the 4.5-inch Liquid Z410. Both of these smartphones support 4G LTE connectivity and deliver 64-bit quad-core processing for fast browsing, streaming and downloading. The smartphones offer a host of handy features for communicating via voice, text and data. They’re also unlocked, so customers can select the carrier of their choice as well as pursue contract-free options.
“Our newest smartphones for the Canadian market are thin, light and outfitted with the convenient tools people depend on for navigating and communicating,” said Hugo Hernandez, vice president, Acer America Smartphone Business Group.
These smartphones are not new, we saw them announced back in January at the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show).
The Liquid Jade Z’s 5-inch HD display is viewable from almost any angle thanks to an IPS panel. It’s also readable in most circumstances with Zero Air Gap technology that reduces unwanted reflections. Durable, it’s protected under a beautiful, yet strong Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel and offers a special read mode that eliminates blue-light emissions to safeguard the eyes.
Thanks to a voice-activated 13MP rear camera with a F1.8 aperture, it can produce stunning pictures in any environment, even when light is scarce. A front camera with a 5MP F2.2 aperture is also included.
The Liquid Jade Z with 2GB RAM/16GB ROM is available in charcoal gray for $269 CAD (MSRP) and the Acer Liquid Z410 with 1GB RAM/8GB ROM is offered in dark brown for $149 CAD (MSRP).
