Apple Music gains 11 million trial members

Apple Music, which incorporates a music streaming service, an Internet radio station and access to iTunes purchased music has been available as a free trial and already has 11 million users. According to Eddie Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, Apple Music has managed to get 11 million users in around a month of being made available.

"We're thrilled with the numbers so far," said Eddy Cue, adding that of that sum "2 million have opted for the more lucrative family plan at $14.99 a month for up to six people." Apple Music is available for free trial for three months, after which the company will begin charging users.

Rival Spotify has "more than 20 million subscribers and more than 75 million active users".
