PayPal Caters To Every Type of Shopper On-The-Go

By Sonya Davidson

As things heat up in the mobile payment sector, PayPal has just introduced a more simplified way of catching that elusive busy shopper who's constantly on-the-go with One Touch - a new checkout experience for mobile devices, laptops and home computers.

Shoppers no longer have to enter their PayPal username and password every time they shop online. Once opted-in, consumer no longer need to enter in their information over and over again (as long as they use the same device) making shopping even easier...thanks! (I think?)

One Touch features extra security measures including Enhanced Verifcation (shopper must use the same device and browser combination and if they try to add a new shipping address or payment type, then they will be prompted to log in again). One Touch funtionality also includes making payments however, not for withdrawing funds or access to settings from the payment screen.

More retailers and services are providing easier check out experiences to customers including Netflix, Uber, Airbnb, Boxed, and StubHub. For the merchant, there's already a noted increase in sales in average order values and customer adoption and loyalty. At a recent event hosted by PayPal in Toronto, the team had mentioned a significant improvement in customer checkout abandonment. StubHub has reported a double digit increase in total sales and transactions through PayPal on iOS with One Touch since enabling the feature for mobile last fall.

PayPal suggests that it's safer to have credit card information stored in one place for seamless shopping access and not having to share it with a variety of retailers opening to more chances of fraud.

Shopping at your favourite retailer is also less stressful and seamless if you're tight for time and can't handle the aggressive crowds during busy seasons like back-to-school and holidays.

Thanks to PayPal for pointing out what kind of shopper from taking a quiz.

It turns out that I'm a Big Ticket Buyer (any surprises there?). It pretty much summed up what I like and dislike about holiday shopping.
