Here's everything Apple announced today

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

We finally have new MacBook Pros. Although this leaked and anticipated update to Apple's line of pro notebooks has been percolating for months, there are now three new slimmer MacBook Pros outfitted with newer processors, faster I/O and, on the two more expensive models, a new OLED Touchbar that's designed to change as users move through apps.

The adaptive TouchBar is the big innovation for this cycle and makes the MacBook Pros that feature it far more versatile to use. Final Cut Pro users, for example, will be able to scrub through their timelines, apply edits and precise changes plus navigate the app's shortcuts using the TouchBar. Hit jump for a wuick overview.

Blending the thin profile and long battery life of the MacBook Air line and the MacBook Retina's innovations (and its omissions) the new 14.9 mm thin the 13-inch MacBook Pro is 17 percent thinner and 23 percent less volume than the previous generation, and nearly half a pound lighter at just three pounds. The new 15-inch MacBook Pro, at just 15.5 mm thin, is 14 percent thinner and 20 percent less volume than before, and weighing just four pounds, is nearly half a pound lighter. This means that these are the most portable pro-level notebook that Apple's ever shipped. Touch ID, larger trackpads, louder speakers and new USB Type-C / Thunderbolt ports, 10-hours battery life as well as faster SSD storage are just some of the features of the new MacBook Pros. Pricing begins at $1,899 for the 13-inch MacBook Pro (no TouchBar) and goes up yp $2,999 for the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The TouchBar MacBooks will ship in 2-3 weeks.

Apple today introduced a significant update to its professional video editing app, Final Cut Pro X, featuring incredible new editing features for the Magnetic Timeline, support for the revolutionary Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro and a redesigned interface with full support for wide colour workflows. The Touch Bar replaces the keyboard’s traditional function row with a brilliant, Retina-quality Multi-Touch display that dynamically adapts to Final Cut Pro X by putting intuitive, context-sensitive controls right at the user’s fingertips. Apple also released updates to Motion and Compressor.

Apple TV also got some love. A new TV app, offering a unified experience for discovering and accessing TV shows and movies from multiple apps on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. The App shows what is available to Watch at the moment as well as what is Up Next. There are curated recommendations and the ability to live tune using Siri. The TV app and single sign-on will be available in December as free software updates for Apple TV (4th generation), iPhone and iPad customers in the US. Live tune-in with Siri is available today.
