Norton looks to protect your mobile devices with WiFi Privacy app

We rely a lot on public Wi-Fi hotspots, in fact data from the Norton Wi-Fi Risk Report claims that 89 percent of Canadians use public Wi-Fi with 71 percent of Canadian users accessing this via smartphones. However, these aren’t particularly safe. Your smartphone stores a lot of personal and sensitive data; if this gets into the wrong hands, then you’re in a lot of trouble. And that’s why Norton by Symantec is introducing a new Android and iOS app to help protect your smartphones and tablets. The WiFi Privacy app adds bank-grade encryption to protect your devices while on public Wi-Fi. It lets you browse the web anonymously as well and access your favorite apps and content like you would on a secure server at home. The app can even help encrypt your data on a no-log virtual private network so no one can track your activities.

The WiFi Privacy app will be available for purchase on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The iOS version comes with a free 30-day trial, while the Android app comes with a seven-day free trial ahead of the yearly subscription plan. A yearly subscription service for one device will cost $39.99 and PC, Mac, and multi-device availability will be coming in the future.
