Friends who stream together, shomi survey says...
I can definitely tell you that I love watching shows with my bestie and we often get into some pretty interesting (funny, heated etc.) discussions between us. Whether we watch together on the couch or "together" sharing our thoughts online it's always more fun watching with others.
In fact, 68% of besties talk about what they watch in person over 32% who connect over the phone according to a recent national (Canada) survey conducted by shomi that was revealed in anticipation of National Best Friends Day (June 8). The fun stats were compiled with responses by 3000 shomi members and all in fun, here are some of the findings...
Who would be the ideal badass bestie? 24% of those who responded tell us that Jax Teller (Sons of Anarchy) would fill that role nicely followed by Xena at 22%. I would be toss into the circle of friends with Cookie Lyon (Empire) who reaped in 16% of the votes.
Aside from watching and chatting about their favourite characters and plots from shows, what else are best friends for? 31% think that paying for the first round is pretty special and 25% say helping out with moving day rocks.
The survey was conducted in honour of the streaming service's new binge-worthy series Playing House that follows childhood besties as they venture into adulthood. The series stars Lennon Parham (Veep, New Girl, Lady Dynamite) and Jessica St. Clair (Bridesmaids, HBO's Animals).
