Prisma is now official on Android

Have you been seeing selfies that look like paintings on your social media feeds? Well, that’s most likely courtesy of Prisma. The app makes use of artificial intelligence and neural networks to turn your photos into works of art. It’s been popular over on Apple devices but is now officially available on Android, too. It started out in beta about five days ago on Android. The app can turn any of your photos into works of art using modern art filters or using styles of famous artists.

Having tested Prisma Android on my HTC 10, I found it to be much slower and quite unreliable. It could be that the servers are getting slammed, but the experience on my iPhone 6S is way faster and more efficient. Looks like Android users are getting the short end of the stick for this one, or maybe everyone is just trying to use it all at once.

I was unable to complete 4 out of 5 filter effects. The app simply stalls and is quite frustrating.
