Nespresso brings Colombia and Brazil experiences in limited edition roasts

We love our coffee and according to the Coffee Association of Canada, two-thirds of adult Canadians enjoy at least one cup of coffee a day with the average of 3.2 cups daily. It's the most popular beverage consumed amongst Canadians over the age of 16. Most of us consume our first cup of coffee at breakfast time (I sometimes enjoy my third by lunch). 

According to the site, 7 out of 10 cups of coffee are consumed at home and more Canadians (38%) own a single cup system than Americans (27%)! I'm actually surprised! Having said that, we've been loyal to Nespresso for a few years not only because of the ease of the system and recycling program of their pods, but also because of the roasts they offer have constantly held our interest. 

The latest limited editions we have tried offers "Cafezinho do Brasil" and "Tinto de Columbia" -- both very different in flavours and profiles. 

When explaining roasts, us Nespresso consumers understand the rating system or levels of intensity to help deternine what our preferences are. I personally lean towards the stronger more flavourful roasts and the limited edition Cafezinho do Brasil hits high on the intensity scale of 9 (13 is top of chart). Describing the roast is much like the vibrancy of the Brazilian people - it's definitely an intense experience full of spirit. Slightly bitter but has a lot of character. The origin of this roast is 100% Brazilian pure blend from the Cerrado district (Minas Gerais State) and Espirito Santo State. Available for the Original Line. 

While Tinto de Colombia, with an intensity level of 3, is a light roast with a hint of floral and berries that makes for a great refreshing iced coffee that I preferred on a warm day under the shade. This particular roast's origin is 100% Columbian blend of Arabicas from Cauca, Tolima and Santander regions. It is available only for the VertuoLine machines.
