askPETMD app launches in Canada
So, you've got a new addition to the family recently? You're not alone. According to PETMD, 41% of new pet ownership happens during the holiday season. But it's all sinking in now and health, wellness and overall care is top of mind for your little buddy. askPETMD app is now available in Canada for free (Apple App Store and Google Play store) that offers pet care and health advice on-the-go.
Features include content on popular topics like general care, diet, behaviour, emergency and preventative care that covers pet species including dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, gerbils and more.
It will offer free vet-qualified answers within 24 hours to specific questions about dogs and cats as well as offering the closest veterinarian based on your current location or search by entering a postal code for critical needs.
Searching for quick information is fast. For example, type into the askPETMD app -- "dog cuts and bruises" -- and it will bring up much-needed information for on-the-spot first aid and a vet locator option to quickly and easily find nearby emergency veterinarians.
There are more than 8,000 informative articles searchable through the app that answer over 750 of the most popular -- and obscure -- pet questions searched online by pet owners. Examples of questions asked include "what do turtles eat?" and "do dogs dream?"
The app is created by PETMD-- the world's largest digital resource for pet health and wellness information. Founded in 2008 to provide pet owners support beyond the vet office. The website maintains a comprehensive library of more than 10,000 pet health articles, all written and approved by PETMD's network of trusted veterinarians.
