CES 2017: Dell and Alienware flex major gaming hardware muscle at CES
Las VEgas - Gaming hardware is peaking and as more companies jump in to make new gaming notebooks, Dell’s industry expertise and presence in the PC gaming space just went into overdrive with the launch of Alienware and Inspiron gaming systems for players of all levels and price points. Available starting Jan. 5 in the U.S. and Canada, Dell will add an Inspiron gaming line built for price-conscious gamers who require performance demanded by today’s most popular PC games.
This move complements what Dell already offers with Alienware’s 20 years of gaming excellence, pioneering specialty high-performance gaming PCs unrivaled in their engineering and innovation. Since joining the Dell family a decade ago, Alienware has grown into a leading gaming brand worldwide and brings industry-first innovation and uncompromised design to gamers who demand an edge on their competition.
“The popularity of PC gaming is at an all-time high, with hardware alone forecasted to exceed $35 billion by the end of 2018, thanks to the introduction of VR and excitement created by esports and gaming tournaments,” said Bryan deZayas, Director, Dell Gaming. “We are very proud to continue investing in gamers around the world by introducing a new Inspiron gaming line and partnering with ELEAGUE to power and support the esports community, which is projected to reach 145 million fans in 2017.”

A league of its own: Dell and ELEAGUE partner to drive pro-level gaming to new heights
esports demonstrate the massive cultural shift of gaming from a niche hobby to a global cultural and digital phenomenon. The esports fanbase already rivals the number of ice hockey fans, and in the next three years the global esports audience will grow from 256 million to 345 million viewers and revenues surpassing $1 billion³. Dell is proud to announce a new partnership with ELEAGUE to support their vision of producing high-quality, innovative eSports tournaments that reach audiences both via television and online streaming platforms.
Dell is now an official partner and exclusive PC hardware provider for ELEAGUE, the professional esports league operated by Turner and WME | IMG. All 2017 ELEAGUE tournaments will be televised live across a combination of TBS and Twitch, beginning with the ELEAGUE Major - featuring Valve’s popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - to be held Jan. 22 - 29. Pro players and tournament organizers demand reliable, high-performance hardware used in competition. ELEAGUE will use the Alienware Aurora with Dell 24-inch 144Hz gaming monitor as their competition system giving players incredible speed and processing power to easily overcome the most chaotic of competitive moments.
"The world's best gamers demand bleeding edge hardware that keep them at their best,” said Seth Ladetsky, senior vice president of Sales, Turner Sports. “ELEAGUE is proud to welcome Dell as a key partner, supporting the passionate esports community and delivering the high-performance hardware needed to fuel ELEAGUE's thrilling competition all year long."
