CES 2017: Hisense making moves to be a major player in high-end TVs

Las Vegas Hisense, in case you didn't know, is one of the largest television brands in the world. Hisense unveiled display innovations here at CES that will be on the market in 2017, including the company’s first-of-its-kind true 4K Laser Cast TV, immersive screen sizes up to 100 inches and, for the first time, soundbars.

Building on the company’s breakthrough success in 2016, Hisense continues to transform the viewing experience through its commitment to top-of-the-line TV technology and design. The company continues to expand its presence in the North American market, growing local R&D teams and unveiling higher-end technologies that were previously only available overseas.

“At Hisense, we continually strive to push the boundaries of TV technology and design,” said Jerry Liu, Chief Executive Officer of Hisense Americas. “After a year of standout growth, 2017 is shaping up to be an exciting year for us, and we look forward to bringing even more consumers together in the living room.”

The Future of TV

Hisense is introducing the future of home theatre with a state-of-the-art true 4K Laser Cast TV. The short-throw projector is HDR compatible and features a UHD upscaler, displaying a stunning 4K picture measuring 100 inches diagonally. It will be available in the summer of 2017 for $12,999.99 USD.

The company is also bringing its award-winning ULED® technology to larger screen sizes than ever. Awarded 20 patents, Hisense’s ULED® technology is up to three times brighter than OLED, with better dynamic range and perception of black and white. The technology enhances color, contrast, black level, brightness and smooth motion with a combination of advanced hardware and software.

Bigger is Better

Taking picture quality to the next level, the highly anticipated Hisense H10D 4K ULED® Smart TV features Quantum Dot Wide Color Gamut, Ultra HD Premium™ and UHD upscaling. The 70-inch and 75-inch flagship H10D is the largest ULED™ TV series in the U.S. and will be available for purchase in early 2017.

Hisense is also introducing the H9D and H9D Plus 4K ULED® Smart TV, featuring Wide Color Gamut, edge-lit local dimming and UHD upscaling for the ultimate viewing experience. The H9D series features three size options (50, 55 and 65 inches) and the H9D Plus series offers four size options (50, 55, 65 and 75 inches). Both series will be available for purchase in early 2017.

The H8D 4K Smart TV series will be available in bigger screen sizes – 65 and 86 inches – than ever before. Consumers recently ranked the Hisense H8’s picture quality at the same level as premium brands like Samsung and significantly above budget brands like Vizio in a blind television picture quality study conducted by Wakefield Research. New sizes of the bestselling H8 series are HDR compatible and will be available for purchase in early 2017.

Hisense is also bringing its industry-leading four-year warranty to all 55-inch and above 4K Smart TVs. In addition, every Hisense 4K Smart TV will feature HDR capabilities, including the H7D series, where consumers can experience premium technology for as low as $399.99 USD

 Smarter than Ever

Hisense recognizes that without easy access to content, picture quality is irrelevant. The newly redesigned Hisense Smart TV platform offers quick and easy one-touch access to all of the content consumers want, including a full web browser for Hisense brand 4K televisions. In North America, this platform pre-installs more than 40 leading apps – including Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and VUDU – which can be accessed with the touch of a button on the newly designed remote. In addition, Hisense Smart TV users can experience content from hundreds of apps through the Opera TV Store that encompass movies and TV shows, music, gaming, lifestyle, fashion, news and more.

For seamless access to 4K content, Hisense has developed 4K Now, a content gallery for 4K movies, trending videos and streaming providers, offering viewers the opportunity to experience the most beautiful content.

Hisense Roku TV

Hisense is also building on the success of the H4 series by introducing a new lineup of 4K Hisense Roku TVs in the U.S. The new lineup features two series – the R6 and the R8 series with Dolby Vision. These TVs run the Roku® operating system and feature a simple home screen with icons for entertainment favorites. Consumers easily find entertainment with access to 450,000 movies and TV episodes through 4,500 channels. Using Roku’s unbiased search they can look for movies, TV shows and actors across 150 top channels and see results sorted by price. The curated Roku 4K Spotlight Channel makes it easy to find 4K and HDR content. The Roku mobile app for iOS® or Android® devices lets consumers use a phone as a remote control, cast videos and photos and more.

Soundbars

Hisense will be introducing soundbars in the U.S. for the first time this year. Designed to complement Hisense’s premium picture quality, the full optical/coaxical soundbar lineup features Bluetooth, USB playback, HDMI ARC, as well as Dolby Support on select models. Hisense soundbars range from $79.99 USD to $299.99 USD for 2.0 Channel Sound to 5.1 Surround Sound respectively. For more info check www.hisense-usa.com and global.hisense.com
