Where to #DonateTech in Toronto December 11 - 15

We all have some tech gadgets lying around that we no longer use and just haven't had the time to sort out what to do with them. Sure you could dispose of them, properly of course, but some of us think filling the landfills is not the most responsible thing to do. To help, RL Solutions and TechToronto have partner with Free Geek Toronto to help Torontonians donate their unwanted devices.

From December 11 to 15 the #DonateTech Drive is taking place. Donation bins and info booths will be in the downtown core to accept the donations. Think old smartphones, keyboards, wires, monitors or speakers.

Why Donate?

  • About 14 million tonnes of tech is thrown out each year in Canada. Donating your tech means it won't go in the landfills and it gets recycled responsibly.
  • Retired laptops can get a new life by supporting students who don't have access to technology -- helps students gain technical skills and offers educational resources.
  • Retired phones may not have the latest features, but they can still give the ability for others to stay connected who may not be able to afford a new one.

You can find the #DonateTech booth at the following locations:

  • The DMZ at Ryerson University - Monday, December 11, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • WeWork at 33 Bloor Street - Tuesday, December 12, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • MaRS Discovery District - Wednesday, December 13, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • City Hall - Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
