Google Photos takes out ability to backup only while charging

A new update that’s started to roll out for Google Photos is something that Android users aren’t happy with. The app has lost the option to back up image collections only while charging. This means, you’ll have to either manually back photos up or accept that’ll backup anytime you’re connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network (the latter is thankfully something you still have control over). While Google hasn’t explained the reason behind this update, it’s bound to annoy some users. Having Photos backing up while charging a device seems like a logical step as it really isn’t doing much then.

It looks like the feature hasn’t rolled out to all users yet but it should be coming your way soon. Keep your eyes out for version 2.17.0.159033354. If you want to share your thoughts on this latest update, you can leave some feedback in the link here.
