Android Oreo will now show you Wi-Fi speeds before you connect to the network

You’ve probably tried to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot and realized that it’s slower than your mobile data connection. To help you save the time and effort (with some requiring you to sign up or provide personal information), Android Oreo started rolling out a new feature that will show you the estimated speeds of Wi-Fi networks before you connect to them. It won’t show the exact bandwidth readings but you’ll see categories like slow (under 1Mbps), OK (1-5Mbps), fast (5-20Mbps), and very fast (20Mbps and above). It might be too conservative for you but it is a pretty useful feature when you need it.
