Meltdown and Spectre patches for Surface devices released by Microsoft

As computer and smartphone manufacturers and IT managers alike scramble to mitigate the unprecedented flaws found in Intel, AMD and ARM processors. it is now clear that Meltdown and Spectre  can lead to serious exploits and opens up a Pandora's Box of possibilities for hackers and malware.

Microsoft has responded quickly to rlease a new UEFI udatefor its Surface line of devices to add a layer of protection to the following devices.

  • Surface Pro 3
  • Surface Pro 4
  • Surface Book
  • Surface Studio
  • Surface Pro Model 1796
  • Surface Laptop
  • Surface Pro with LTE Advanced
  • Surface Book 2

If you have any of these devices do yourself a favour and run Software Update in order to stay ahead of this threat.
