Google Pixel 2 users are experiencing shortened battery life and increased heat

It seems that the recent update to the Google Pixel 2 is causing shortened battery life and increased heat. The issues some users are experiencing are reduced battery life and or increase in temperature. Google still has not addressed the issue although users are taking to Reddit and other online communities to share their experiences. Are you a Pixel 2 user experiencing similar issues?
