Ubisoft confirms new ‘Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’ game

A leak might have forced Ubisoft to unveil the latest game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. We aren’t sure. What we do know is that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is coming and it’s going to make its appearance at E3 2018. The leak happened a few hours before the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter confirmed the game’s existence. French video game site JeuxVideo-Live posted a photo of a novelty keychain promoting the unannounced (at that time) title. The keychain showed a helmet that resembled that of King Leonidas I. The site claimed the game will be set in ancient Greece.

And as we’ve seen in the short teaser Ubisoft released, that seems to be the case. One character is forcefully kicking off another character off a cliff. Polygon thinks the shot references the Spartans kicking the Persian messengers into the well ahead of the Battle of Thermopylae, which was depicted in the film 300. Well, we don’t have to wait too long to hear more about the game as Ubisoft’s E3 press conference is happening on Monday, June 11.
