Samsung's Galaxy Tab Active2 is the rugged and water resistant tablet for the field

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 is a new, rugged tablet designed for mobile workers who conduct business outdoors or beyond office walls, including in the field, industrial locations and harsh weather. The device provides easy access to essential functions in extreme conditions—such as high/low temperatures and wet environments—and advances seamless workflow by combining high durability and LTE connectivity with a range of innovative capabilities for business users.

The Tab Active2 is MIL-STD-810-certified—the military standard for durability during excessive pressure, temperatures, vibrations and drops—and IP68-rated for water  and dust resistance. Physical buttons are included for easy operation with work gloves, and the display can be used while wet, enabling access in rainy or inclement weather.

First impressions of the Active 2 is that the included rugged case gives it optimum protection with not much bulk. The ability to use the SPen even when the display is moist or submerged is also helpful in inclement weather situations (not ideal for underwater use). The dirt and dust resistance is also impressive for a device that's designed to take abuse. Best of all, you can strip back the protective layers and have a tablet tha is as thin and light as other non-rugged devices out there.

Galaxy Tab Active2 offers 4G LTE connectivity and will cost $699.99 from Bell, Telus and Rogers and online from the Samsung Store.
