Netflix to get rid of user reviews feature

Netflix is getting rid of its desktop-only user review system soon. It won’t be completely pulled out in one go, though. First, users will no longer be able to write reviews after July 30. And then in mid-August, the existing reviews will be taken out. According to Netflix spokesperson Smita Saran, members who use the feature have been notified about this change. Netflix says they are taking the feature down because of “declining usage over time.” It was only available to users of Netflix’s site and Saran said the written reviews didn’t affect the system it used to recommend shows and movies to you.

The streaming service has been constantly tweaking its feedback system. One of the latest changes they did was change how people can rate shows and movies with one to five stars into a simpler thumbs up or thumbs down.
