Bose crashes smart speaker and soundbar party with new products

Anyone would be foolish to count out Bose in the smart speaker and soundbar market. The company who spearheaded hi-fi consumer audio for decades simply waited for the dust to settle and is now launching its own Alexa-powered smart speaker as well as a smart soundbar.

Newly released from Bose are the Home Speaker 500, Soundbar 500 and Soundbar 700 which all have Amazon Alexa built-in and will supposedly allow for Google Home and whatever bits of Siri and AirPlay 2 Apple is willing to share with third-party manufacturers.

Coming in OCtober, Bose's Home Speaker 500 will cost US $399.95, while the soundbars begin at $549.95.
