Microsoft kills off Windows 10’s Sets feature

Before it really rolled out to the public, the Microsoft Sets is no more. This feature is designed to keep your app data, sites, and other info in view through a browser-like tab. But now the feature isn’t coming back. According to reports the feature just “wasn’t well received or understood.” The team still wants to bring tabs into the Windows Console but it won’t use Sets as the groundwork.

The decision to kill it off reportedly came when it was decided that Edge will be using Chromium. The work needed to be done to integrate the feature into the new Edge would’ve meant a delay for Edge’s release or the feature was going to be unsupported for months. If the feedback that was reported is going to be believed, then the company probably decided it wasn’t worth the effort to do so.
