Wanting to replicate Netflix’s success with the interactive format, YouTube is also working on creating interactive content for its site. Ben Relles, YouTube’s head for unscripted programming, is taking the lead for the new division that focuses on interactive shows and live specials. The streaming site has been rethinking its original content plans. They have already recently cancelled some big-budget series. But they also have plans to introduce new programming in the coming weeks—perhaps this includes new interactive content.

YouTube’s head of original programming Susanne Daniels told Bloomberg in a statement, "We now have amazing new tools and opportunities to create and tell multilayered and interactive stories. Ben has an intuitive and experienced understanding of how the platform can enhance content, making him the perfect choice to develop this exciting new division."
