Louis Vuitton shows off prototype handbags with flexible displays

We’ve seen many tech companies take on flexible screens, but here’s a new entry into that space we didn’t expect: Louis Vuitton. The luxury fashion brand showed off two prototype handbags at its LV’s Cruise 2020 runway show that have built-in flexible displays. According to LV, these are AMOLED displays with 1,920 x 1,440 resolution. One of the bags had a single screen, while the other had two. These displayed random city views on what looked like a demo of an internet browser. The brand didn’t say if the screens were made in-house or were outsourced and whether these would make its way beyond being prototypes. But according to LV, these are "the basis for reconsidering the digital Canvas of the Future" and they are "always in search of the fusion of savoir-faire and innovation." If it does reach the market, LV hopes these bags become “an extension of the smartphone.” But don’t expect these to be cheap, it’ll be coming from a big luxury brand after all.
