Kevin Smith will develop new 'He-Man' anime series for Netflix

Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) partners with Netflix to develop a new He-Man anime series called Masters of the Universe: Revelation. It will pick up where the old show left off. And Smith will serve as the show's executive producer and showrunner. This time around, the series will focus on unresolved storylines from the '80s series while featuring familiar characters. Smith promises that this new series is "the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid." And he hints that we might witness "the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor."

Announced at the annual Power-Con convention that celebrates Eternia's super siblings, Masters of the Universe: Revelation will be produced by Mattel Television. Powerhouse Animation will be doing the animation, which is the same studio behind Netflix's Castlevania. It hasn't been announced yet when the series will air, though.
