OPPO reveals rollable handset and AR glasses concepts

At this year's OPPO Inno Day, the Chinese company unveiled two new concepts it is working on. One is a smartphone with a rolling screen, and another is a set of augmented reality glasses. The OPPO X 2021 is the company's newest concept phone, which it claims is the result of its research and development on flexible displays. It comes with a 6.7-inch screen size as a smartphone, but it can expand to a more square, tablet-like 7.4-inch panel.

OPPO claims it developed its own power train, structural plate, and screen laminate to ensure the X 2021 is durable. 

The other concept the company is working on is the AR Glass 2021, which it claims is almost 75 percent lighter than its predecessor (an idea that was unveiled at last year's Inno Day). It uses birdbath-type optics with 0.71-inch OLED panels. 

It comes with stereo fisheye cameras for gesture recognition, a time-of-flight sensor, and a conventional RGB camera. It can be hooked up to a Find X2 Pro phone via USB-C for better processing power.

Since these are concepts, it isn't sure if these devices will come to market. But at last year's Inno Day, gadgets and technologies like its first smartwatch and 30W fast wireless charging were launched and included in its lineup.
