New Dell XPS 13 series will be available starting Oct. 1
Three Dell XPS 13 laptops—the XPS 13, XPS 13 Developer Edition, and XPS 13 2-in-1—will be available starting October 1, Thursday. This new lineup is part of Intel's EVO program and comes with the new Tiger Lake chipset.
The XPS 13 comes with the 11th-gen processors and Xe graphics, Thunderbolt 4, and a memory update to 4267MHz LPDDR4x (from 3733MHz). It still features that same lightweight, durable, flawless finish, but with a larger 4-sided InfinityEdge display with a 91.5% screen-to-body ratio. Dell promises up to 19 hours of battery life with this laptop. It's starting price is at US$999 (around CA$1,336).
The XPS 13 Developer Edition is the company's first laptop to come pre-loaded with Ubuntu 20.04LTS and represents the 11th-generation of Project Sputnik's developer-targeted XPS 13. Dell has partnered with Canonical since 2012 to give developers Ubuntu systems that offer them usability, performance, and stability. It has the new 4-sided InfinityEdge display and promises up to 18 hours and 49 minutes of battery life. It's available with up to 32GB of RAM and supports a fingerprint reader. Dell hasn't released information on its pricing yet.
The XPS 13 2-in-1 offers more flexibility for its users in its thin and versatile form factor, which features an advanced thermal design to help cool the higher-powered processors. It also runs on 11th-gen Intel Core processors and Iris X graphics. Dell promises a long battery life. And it comes with the company's smallest camera at 2.25mm, which now has infrared with Windows Hello support. It's starting price is at US1,249 (around CA$1,670)
The available colours for XPS 13, XPS 13 Developer Edition, and XPS 13 2-in-1 include both the platinum silver with black carbon fibre interior and frost with arctic white woven glass interior.
