Samsung smartens up the robot vacuum with JetBot 90 AI+
Samsung unveiled a number of its smart home appliances at CES 2021, emphasizing the use of artificial intelligence in ways like helping you determine when to restock your ref or learning your washing and drying cycle and preferences so it can set those up for you.
And then the company has actual robots it hopes to help you out. The one that will be available for purchase soon is the JetBot 90 AI+. Samsung boasts that it's the first robotic vacuum to run on Intel AI. With the help of sensors like LiDAR and 3D as well as AI-enhanced object recognition tech, it can clean and maneuver around your house without an issue.
The JetBot 90 AI+ uses the information it gathers to clean as close as it can to objects around your house, and it can lower itself beneath furniture when needed. It can classify items to make sure it avoids those it deems dangerous or those likely to cause "secondary contamination" like dog or cat poop.
This vacuum's digital inverter motor makes the most of its Jet Cyclone system's 30W suction power to trap dust in the air and dirt on the floor. Its self-cleaning brush is made with fine fibres made from soft woven textiles to pick up dust from hard to reach crevices and hard floors.
The JetBot 90 AI+ retreats to its Clean Station when it's done cleaning, where it will then automatically empty the dirt it collected into a bag. Samsung says you only need to replace it once every two to three months.
And since we're talking about a smart vacuum, it connects to the Samsung SmartThings app, allowing you to control it from anywhere. It will let you schedule a clean, set "no-go zones" on a map of your home, and connect to its camera to keep an eye on your house.
Samsung plans to launch the JetBot 90 AI+ in the first half of 2021 in the US.
