Android 12 Go Edition is coming in 2022
Google is about to improve the performance of the cheaper Android devices. The company plans to launch the Android 12 Go Edition in 2022, which it promises will offer improved performance by up to 30 percent. That builds on the 20 percent improvement Google polished on the Android 11 Go Edition. This time around, it has smoothed out launch animations.
This operating system update can hibernate apps you don't frequently use to help increase your storage and improve battery life. Nearby Share can now help you save data by transferring apps between devices. And if you need to translate a webpage, there's a new shortcut for that on the recent apps interface.
Android 12 Go Edition also focuses on privacy improvements. Android 12's privacy dashboard will make its way to this OS edition. It will let you review app permissions and allow you to grant access or revoke them as needed. Privacy indicators will let you know if your phone's mic or camera is in use. You can also limit the apps that get your exact location, replacing it with the approximate coordinates. And if someone needs to borrow your phone, you can open a temporary guest account from the lock screen. It'll automatically reset once they're done.
