Microsoft xCloud or the Xbox Game Pass cloud streaming currently supports 720p resolution on mobile devices. But this resolution won't be sufficient once the service rolls out to PCs and iPads. But it's being reported that Microsoft is testing 1080p streams. It isn't known how widespread the testing is or when the upgrade is coming to the service, but it's something gamers can look forward to.

This report comes out as a leaked update to the Xbox Game Streaming app for Windows adds support for more players. It'll also supposedly get support for touch and motion (gyro) input, allowing you to play Xbox games on tablets.

Microsoft is tipped to have a gaming event next month, but it isn't guaranteed that these updates will be ready by then. Nevertheless, these are essential updates we hope the company rolls out soon.
