Apple, Common Sense Media launches 'Kids & Family' experience for Podcasts app

Source: Apple

Apple has partnered with nonprofit organization Common Sense Media to launch a new Kids & Family experience for its Podcasts app. Initially available in the US, the feature will offer age-appropriate content recommendations for families. The goal is to make it easier for parents to find kid-friendly podcasts for all ages.

There will be thematic collections from creators like Tinkercast, American Public Media, Gen-Z Media, Pinna, Tumble, Highlights, WNYC Studios, Rebel Girls, and Nickelodeon.

According to MacRumors, these are the four collections available at launch:

  • Common Sense Media Picks: These are all-time favourites that provide entertaining and informative content.
  • One More!: These contain mysterious tales and action-packed dramas for kids of all ages that will have them clamouring for one more!
  • Kids Know Best: These are popular podcasts for kids, selected by kids themselves.
  • Story Time: These are story-driven shows that can take kids inside their imagination.

There will be monthly updates featuring new and popular podcasts. Additional collections tied to important historical and cultural moments will be released, too.
