Apple Fitness+ introduces workouts for the pregnant, elderly, and beginners

Source: Apple

Apple wants to cover all bases with the addition of new workouts to its fitness service. Apple Fitness+ gets new exercises geared towards pregnancy and older adults. There are also new Yoga, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and Strength workouts for beginners.

The Workouts for Pregnancy includes 10 sessions across strength, core, and mindful cooldown. Fitness+ trainer and mom-to-be Betina Gozo, joined by trainers and new moms Emily Fayette and Anja Garcia, lead quick 10-minute workouts that accommodate the different stages of pregnancy and fitness levels. They will provide tips on modifying the sessions to offer comfort as the body changes. These workouts can be done on their own or mixed with Fitness+ weekly studio workouts via the modifications shown in the series.

The Workouts for Older Adults is designed to keep users active at any age, focusing on strength, flexibility, coordination, mobility, and balance. Molly Fox will lead the eight-workout series with Gregg Cook for Strength, Dustin Brown for Yoga, Bakari Williams for HIIT, and Jhon Gonzalez for Dance. Users can do many of these workouts with either bodyweight or a light dumbbell. There will be modifications with a chair or against a wall. These sessions are also 10 minutes long and can be combined with other Fitness+ workouts.

The new beginner-friendly workouts all feature low-impact moves with easy-to-follow steps to help beginners or those returning to these workouts feel comfortable doing the exercises.

These workouts will launch on April 19 alongside a special Earth Day episode of Time To Walk with Jane Fonda. According to Apple's press release, "The actor, producer, author, and activist talks about standing up to her fears and the power of taking action to fight climate change."
