Amazon Music HD is now a free upgrade for Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers

Following in Apple's footsteps, Amazon just announced its lossless music streaming service, Amazon Music HD, will be available to all eligible Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers at no extra cost. It was first launched in the fall of 2019 and now has over 70 million songs in its HD catalogue and around seven million Ultra HD tracks.

The service also supports songs remixed in 3D Audio formats like Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA, which you can play on Amazon's high-fidelity speaker, the Echo Studio, and Sony's RA5000 and RA3000 speakers via Alexa Cast.

Before today's announcement, Amazon Music HD had a starting price of CAD 12.99. But now, Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan or Family Plan subscribers get the upgrade at no additional cost. Amazon will apply the changes in the next billing cycle. Canada joins the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy to get the free upgrade.
