Acer showcases Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition

Source: Acer

The Acer Aspire Vero gets a redesign with a new National Geographic-inspired look. In case you didn't know, the Aspire Vero is the brand's first laptop made from post-consumer recycled plastics. The 15.6-inch laptop's chassis and screen bezel are made from 30% PCR plastic, while the keycaps are 50% PCR plastic. You can easily access and upgrade its specs. Plus, it ships with packaging made from 100% recyclable material.

The Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition gets a topographic map-like pattern on the lid that alludes to the impact of global warming on rising sea levels. You can also see a small NatGeo logo on the cover. The distinctive National Geographic yellow border is printed on the bottom right corner of the keyboard, and the words "For Planet Earth" are printed in yellow on the spacebar.

Each purchase of this special edition laptop will support the US-based global nonprofit National Geographic Society. As CNET pointed out, though, the Acer Aspire Vero won't be available in the US immediately. It's coming to China first this month, followed by France in March, and then other countries in the Asia Pacific. It is priced at 5,499 yuan, around CA$1,103 converted.
