Google will let G Suite/Workspace users draft emails in Docs

If you'd prefer to compose your carefully worded email outside of Gmail, Google will offer an update to Google Docs for Workspace and legacy G Suite users to allow collaboration on Gmail drafts. You don't even have to memorize recipients' email addresses, as you can mention people by name there.

To access the feature, you just need to head to Insert > Building Blocks > Email draft. When you're ready to send, simply click a button to open a Gmail compose window and have the finalized message transferred there. Docs will even automatically populate the relevant fields. The feature will take around 15 days to reach companies on Rapid Release domains, while the more cautious Scheduled Release users will get it on March 22. It is unclear if Google will bring the feature to personal Gmail users.
