'F1 22' to launch on July 1, brings VR support

EA's Formula 1 simulator is coming back in a few months. F1 22 will launch worldwide on July 1, with FIA's new hybrid cars and updated rules unveiled this racing season. According to EA and Codemaster, you can expect the game to be more "competitive and unpredictable" thanks to the major overhaul done to real-life F1 cars. The game also gets PC VR support for Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, among other new features.

F1 22 also gets new features like Broadcast and Immersive modes, allowing you to choose between more realistic or cinematic modes for formation laps, pit stops, and safety car periods. You get multiplayer racing options, including two-player split-screen or online. A new Adaptive AI mode lets less experienced players drive against AI racers that match their skill. Career Mode is getting an update, but it isn't clear what's new. The My Team feature is also coming back, and track updates reflect real-world changes made in some tracks.

The game is also getting a new feature called F1 Life, which lets you "step into the glamorous world of Formula 1." It's a customizable hub to show off supercars, clothing, and accessories you earned while playing or purchased in the game.
