Twitter tests 'CoTweets' feature to let you collaborate on tweets
Twitter recently began testing a new feature that will let two users co-author tweets. Select accounts in Canada, the US, and Korea can access the feature. Twitter is testing out CoTweets for a limited time with a few users to learn how they will use the feature.
To check if you have access to it, you'll see it appear in the tweet composer video via a pop-up. It'll invite you to "tweet together with CoTweets." If you ask someone to share ownership of a tweet with you, they can choose to accept and mark both of you as co-authors or decline your invitation. It's similar to a feature we see on Instagram. It'll be handy for brand deals or a collab promo between two users.
The account you invite can opt-out of being a co-author anytime. They can accept it at first, but they can change their mind even after the tweet is published. That CoTweet will turn into a regular tweet by the original author. You can invite people to CoTweet if they follow you and have public accounts.
At the end of this feature's test, Twitter said it could turn it off and have any CoTweets removed. Be mindful of that if you're participating in the trial. If you are, we'd love to know your thoughts on the feature!
