Dbrand has sued Casetify for copying its Teardown products, which show the device internals on skins and cases. The accessory maker created the products with YouTuber Zack “JerryRigEverything” Nelson, who says they make accurate and detailed scans of each device. They also add some hidden features, such as a label with Nelson’s catchphrase and Dbrand’s logo, which they say Casetify copied.

Dbrand and Nelson claim that Casetify’s Inside Out line used their modified scans without permission. They say they have proof that Casetify’s cases have the same Easter eggs and design choices as their Teardown products. They are seeking damages for 45 infringing products in a Toronto court.

Casetify has removed the Inside Out products from its website after Dbrand and Nelson exposed them on X (formerly Twitter). It says it is investigating the allegation and a DDOS attack that affected its website. It also claims to be a source of originality. Meanwhile, Dbrand and Nelson took this opportunity new X-ray line of products.
