Netflix unveils the first look at 'The Three-Body Problem' adaptation
Netflix’s Tudum event delivered on its promise: a stunning first look at the streamer’s adaptation of Cixin Liu’s sci-fi masterpiece, The Three-Body Problem. The teaser trailer reveals a glimpse of the epic saga, based on the book trilogy, and announces its release date: January 2024.
The eight-episode project is led by Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, with Rian Johnson (Glass Onion and Last Jedi director) among the producers. The story spans from 1960s China to the present day, where a group of brilliant scientists face a cosmic threat that defies the laws of nature. They must reunite to save humanity from its greatest peril.
The cast is star-studded and includes Jess Hong, Benedict Wong, Eiza González, Jovan Adepo, Alex Sharp, John Bradley, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Pryce, Marlo Kelly, Sea Shimooka, Ben Schnetzer, and Zine Tseng.
